Forum: movies Subject: derives for xacti h.264 mpeg4 uploads

I bought a Sano Xacti hd1010 camcorder, because I thought that it would allow me to record videos onto a memory card (in h.264 mpeg4 format) and immediately (with no conversion required) upload them to where they would be used to automatically derive flash versions and 512kB_mpeg4 versions for downloading or streaming.

I testing it by uploading a video made in the "TV-SHQ" mode (640x480 @ 30fps).

If I don't specify the file type (use the default as mpeg4, only a flash version is derived and the 512Kb_mpeg4 files are not derived. The flash version appears to play correctly. This would be ok, except that I need to have the 512Kb_mpeg4 files derived. The item is:

To have the 512Kb_mpeg4 files derived, I have to specify the type of file as being "h.264 mpeg4" before the derive is done.

When I do that flash versions and 512k_mpeg4 files are derived. Item is:

However, there is a problem with the sounds in the derived files. Specifically, the sound in the flash version plays substantially faster than the video (which plays at the correct rate). Also, the sound in the generated 512Kb_mpeg4 files do not play correctly. The sound cuts out if I download the files and try to play them using quicktime or VLC media player.

Any suggestions of how to get these videos (640x480 30fps, h.264) to allow deriving working flash and 512Kb_mpeg4 files?
